Max R. Farrell Scholarship Fund

The Max R. Farrell Scholarship Fund is provided exclusively to students attending Charlotte Technical College. Students must have demonstrated financial need, adhere to the student code of conduct, and show a commitment to being successful in their chosen field.

Everyone wins when students succeed. Yet many students cannot afford the out-of-pocket expense to get started on technical college education. The Charlotte Local Education Foundation is dedicated to helping students reach their educational goals by reducing the financial burden of attending college. The intent of the Max R. Farrell Scholarship Fund is to inspire, encourage and support students to begin and complete their technical college journey.

Charlotte Local Education Foundation has been advancing student learning for over 30 years. The Max R. Farrell Scholarship Fund was established to help deserving students overcome financial barriers that prevent them from entering and completing programs for jobs that are in high demand.

Technical college is a cost-effective way for students to start a career in as little as one or two years of school. Think about it – you could be on your way to a new career in a year!

Technical training is typically a hands-on program that focuses on one specific area of study, providing students with the knowledge and skills that employers require. Many recent workforce and labor studies forecast that two out of three jobs created between now and 2030 will require education and training beyond a high school diploma, but not necessarily a four-year college degree.

Technical college training offers many benefits:

  • Shorter programs with focused training
  • Class schedule flexibility
  • Connections with local employers after training is completed
  • Preparation for industry certification
  • Relevant knowledge to enter the workforce or a pathway to pursue further education

There are dozens of programs to choose from. Call or visit Charlotte Technical College today!
